On Earth-2, high school Mark had the balls to start the Japanimation Club. Though they watched bootleg animation tapes from Japan and played Street Fighter 2 at each others’ houses, even his nerd friends wouldn’t join. Why add another reason to get ridiculed? Despite the guaranteed social pariah status, Mark-2 had the courage to pursue what he loved. On yearbook photo day, he was the lone official member of the Japanimation Club. Years later, nerd culture like reading comics and watching cartoons would become mainstream cool. Be like Earth-2 Mark: don’t give a crap what people think because, in time, you can say, “I liked FILL IN THE BLANK before anyone else,” and have proof (like a yearbook photo)!
